Oh my goodness I have learned so much in this time I have been in Gainesville! Oh yeah hey guys I have officially started the world race!! Today during team time I got to share my passion over abiding!! It has been a really huge part of my walk with Christ, he has really showed me the importance of living a life not only with him but truly in him as he is in us.

So a little over a year ago I kinda fell off with my relationship with the Father and really just paid no attention to the Lord and turned my back on him. It was a feeling I would never want any of you guys to experience. The way I truly ignored the Holy Spirit had my heart feeling empty, cold, and just overall apathy. I tried filling that void with worldly things wether that be attention from boys, or even a drink. I physically could not live life anymore the way my heart was so heavy and cold, the joy of the lord was vacant from my day to day life. I decided to choose back into the Lord and turn around and come back better than I started. I decided that I wasn’t only going to believe in Him I was going to have an intimate relationship with Him. I completely turned my life around all through the simple act of abiding.

Abiding- enduring.

Abiding is spending time with Jesus basically. When you bring Jesus into your daily life and include him in everything you do it strengthens your relationship with christ. To abide in christ is just to be more aware of the lords presence. The Lords dwelling place is in you, “your body is the the temple of the lord”( 1 corinthians 6:9). We are with the lord always and just by acknowledging the presence of the Father truly grows that relationship with Him. To abide is basically to live in constant communion with the lord.

In John 15:4 it says “Abide in me as I in you. As the branch cannot bare fruit if it does not abide in the vine”. When we compare our relationship to a grape vine it really brings it into perspective on how as we abide in him he swell as in us. For the Lord is the Vine, and we are the branches. When we spend time and put all attention into Christ our vine he will fuel the branch and it will produce good fruit. When a branch has sticks branching out from it that does not produce good fruit the Lord will prune us and take away branches that suck energy and life from the good branches. Whatever your branch is abiding in is the fruit it will produce, if you abide in unhealthy vines, you will create unhealthy fruit. Abiding into the one true vine will create life giving fruits of the spirit.

I challenge everyone reading this to live an abiding life by spending 30 min in the word every morning. And if that means dying to yourself and waking up earlier I promise y’all its so worth it!

  1. This is so good! Thank you for sharing. I think we all have times that we wander and aren’t abiding in Him as we should. We MUST abide in HIM in order to bear fruit and lice the life Jesus intended.

  2. Yes ma’am. It’s not easy getting out of bed to read. But if you do it, it will start transforming your life. Helps me put my head and heart in the right direction each morning
