Hey y’all! Im Raylee Surguy and will be involved in the world race gap year 2021 on route two. I will be going to Cambodia, Guatemala, and Eswantini (Swaziland). I would like to update y’all on why I’m going.

So I actually discovered The World Race through my friend who went on 11n11 back in 2018, and my cousin did the gap year in 2018 as well. My Sophomore year I began to really pray about what I’m going to do with my life after high school. I was aware of the race but it was just in the back of my mind. On social media I kept seeing ads for this mission trip so I asked God if this is what he wanted me to do, and all the signs I kept getting pointed back to going. It was and still is way out of my comfort zone to do something this big. I kept praying and he kept tugging at my heart to apply. Once I made the decision to apply, the devil began to attack me like crazy! I Began to doubt what God has in store for me, and I began to question. But I quickly realized that that was the devil fearing how amazing God will be working through me during this process.

I have always loved ministry and have always been involved at my church. I have fallen in love with the children and student ministry at my church! And I would love to take all I’ve learned about serving the Lord and bring it out into the world. In John 14:12-13 Jesus tells his disciples “…Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works…”. This verse gives me so much motivation to go out into the world and fulfill the promise I made to God to share the gospel to everyone when I gave my life to Christ. I took this amazing opportunity to begin this journey of the world race, to live out what the Lord has called me to do.

Thank you to all who are following my journey and to everyone who has kept me in their prayers!
